Wireless video doorbell FAQs

Does this video doorbell record?

Yes – automatically. You can select whether this is triggered by someone stepping foot onto your property, or when they press your doorbell. Your ADT account allows video devices to capture and store a combined number of clips each month.

The number of clips per month is determined by the number of video devices:

1 device = 1000 clips
2 devices = 1500 clips
3 devices = 3000 clips

These are then sent to our cloud server, where they are securely stored.

How long does the battery last before it needs recharging?

The three lithium 18650 batteries last around 6 months before recharging is required. You’ll know exactly it’s time, because the LED indicator light will alternate between blue and red.

We recommend recharging for 7 hours for a full battery. Once it’s fully charged, the LED located on top of the battery pack will turn from orange to green.

Are video doorbells weather-proof?

ADT’s video doorbell can operate in all seasons, be it during the winter at -20°C, baking 50° heat, or heavy rain.

Do doorbell cameras record at all times?

Our video doorbell camera begins recording based on the settings you choose; this can be when the doorbell is rung, or when it detects motion in front of it. You can also see any live footage 24/7/365 using either the ADT Smart Services app or web portal

How long do video doorbells last?

The lithium 18650 batteries inside our video doorbell need replacing after about 6 months. You’ll know it’s time when the LED lights switch between blue and red.
