Your smoke and heat alarm is:
The ADT smoke alarm functions alongside the rest of your security system, ensuring a comprehensive safety solution .
All ADT home alarm systems start with:
The system will then be tailored specifically to your requirements.
Our monitored and wireless smoke detector provides unparalleled protection for your home and your family. 24/7/365 monitoring means early warnings of smoke and fire are always responded to, and we also know when the battery is low, so there’s one less thing for you to worry about.
In the event of a fire, we’ll contact the emergency services. We understand that speed and accuracy are critical in a fire, and so we aim to respond to alarms in around 8 seconds, making us the fastest in the industry*.
Can I purchase a smoke and heat detector as a standalone item without a monitoring contract?
Our smoke and heat alarm sensors are only available as an add-on. We firmly believe that monitored solutions are essential to any home security setup, so we only offer monitored products and services, such as our smoke alarm, to ensure we’re maximising the protection you receive.
What is the difference between an ADT smoke and heat detector, and self-installed smoke alarms?
Unlike home self-installed smoke alarms, we don’t just sound the alarm, we answer it. Our smoke and heat alarms offer 24/7/365 monitoring, so a warning signal never goes unanswered. They’re also supported by PowerG wireless technology, enabling our smoke detectors to promptly alert you and our Monitoring Centre, who respond in an average of just 8 seconds*.
Do I still need to test the battery?
You can leave that to us. ADT smoke and heat detectors are constantly monitored, so we will let you know when the battery needs replacing. Our all-inclusive service plan, which comes as standard, covers you for replacement batteries, callouts and labour for any issues, including accidental damage.
Do you need to be qualified to install a smoke alarm?
If you’re wanting to install a mains-powered smoke alarm, an electrician will be needed to make sure everything is wired up safely. Even a battery-powered unit needs to be configured correctly, so it functions as it should and can protect your home.
ADT will cover this for you. Our experts have years of experience when it comes to installing smoke alarms, and they’ll ensure your system is set up to a professional standard.
How many smoke alarms do I need in a 2-bedroom house?
The general recommendation is that a 2-bedroom property must have a smoke alarm in the living room, one in each hallway or landing space, and another in the kitchen. However, ADT’s security experts specialise in designing systems that fit your needs and home perfectly, providing maximum peace of mind. They work with you to determine areas of risk and address any safety or security concerns you might have.
Expert support for complete peace of mind with no unexpected extras.
